Job Description:

  • Identify new Sources for indirect materials for maintenance, repair and operations and work with Supplier Quality Engineer for approval.

  • Negotiate price and delivery with Supplier

  • Provide cost and delivery information to Requestor.

  • Runs a daily material requisition for indirect materials or MRO to determine the amount of material to be purchased.

  • Source checks material requisition for accuracy.

  • Consolidates all purchases of materials accordingly

  • Places POs with vendors after generating the MRP report

  • Confirms receipt of purchase orders with Suppliers

  • Works with supplier to ensure on-time delivery, correct pricing, changes, lead times or cancellations

  • Manage suppliers that have various lead times to maintain proper inventory levels.

  • Runs a back order report and follows up on each item accordingly
    Works with suppliers and program managers to adjusts delivery dates of material

  • Assists in handling returns and discrepancy material authorizations when needed

  • Works with warehouse and accounts payable to resolve receiving and invoicing discrepancies.

  • Contact suppliers in order to schedule, expedite deliveries, resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries and any other discrepancy

  • Ensures compliance with QMS quality management targets and work procedures

  • Fills in as a backup for the purchasing team

  • Accountable and takes full ownership of the position

  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of 2 years of MRO Purchasing experience in aerospace, medical and semiconductor industry

  • Experience using ERP/MRP or other systems preferred but not required

  • Project or Program management experience

  • Knowledge of BOM management systems

  • Knowledge of cable, wires, and connectors suppliers preferred, but not required

  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal)

  • Strong negotiator

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills

  • Ability to multi-task and set priorities in a fast paced environment

  • Analyze problems, present facts, make recommendations, and implement solutions

  • Effective in working both independently and in team settings

    Education / Experience:

  • Engineering or Business Degree Required

  • Experience in Sourcing and Purchasing

  • Experience reading and interpreting Engineering Specifications

  • Proficient in Use of PC: Outlook, Advanced Excel, Power Point, Word and Web Based Portals

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in industrial or manufacturing environment
